Welcome to 10,000 Blessings!

The Low-down
Is there something we can do that will make a positive difference in our community? I believe the answer is a resounding “YES!” But how? It’s easier than you think. By sharing the love of Jesus and performing acts of kindness in His name we can affect our city. That’s the premise behind the 10,000 blessings. One blessing at a time until we reach 10,000.

Please take the time to watch this idea in practice.

So What Do I Do?
My brothers and sisters, just do what I know comes naturally for you as Christians: Love someone, be nice, be kind, be helpful, be generous. God via His Spirit will find the people and the situations.

Now Share Your Story
Share your stories via our simple form located here or at the “Your Story” link seen above. You can make them anonymous of course. We just want to capture the occasion and be blessed by the testimonies.

Some Support
As Christians we are exhorted by Christ and the apostles to live a life that bears a good witness to those around us. Jesus informs us in Matthew 5:14-16 that: “‘You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.‘” (NIV) Peter tells us to “Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” (I Pet 1:12 NIV) and Paul in his advice on love in action in Romans chapter 12 says to “Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.” (V 17b).

No Confusion
I thought that I might say a few words about what 10,000 Blessings is not. Along with Jesus’ desires for us to be the light of the world is his critique of those who boast in what they do and in essence, do what they do just to show off their piety, etc. (See Matt 6:1-4) Although I would argue that the recipients of an act of kindness would probably not care about motives, let’s do our best, taking into consideration our fallen natures, to do these things in the purest sense possible.
